Beaches of Rottnest Island (Western Australia) on 35mm

Rottnest Island has phenomenal crystal clear beaches – perfect for those hot Summer days. Perthians and tourists alike flock to the Island during Summer to relax.

Cycling around the island (Rotto does not have cars), you can search for the perfect beach to cool off and find some scenic lookouts along the way.

I cycled to hit up most of the snorkelling spots on the Parker Point Snorkelling Trail, including:

  • The Basin *it is the perfect swimming hole which you drop into (like a sink basin)
  • Salmon Bay and Little Salmon Bay
  • Little Parakeet Bay

Little Salmon Bay was one of my faves because you could find ship wrecks – making for a great treasure hunt. Otherwise, most spots have a diversity of limestone reef, coral and fish.

Pinkies Beach is a great relaxation spot. The crystal clear water, Lighthouse and proximity to the town centre make it a perfect spot to chill out during the day.
